FitMe is small-group fitness instruction for youth, aged 6-17 years, who have special needs. Led by a pediatric physical therapist, small groups of individuals participate in strength, endurance, and flexibility activities incorporating coordination, balance, socialization, and FUN! An open gym space encourages functional strengthening and whole-body movement.
Prior to enrollment, participants receive a one-on-one consultation with the instructor to review medical history, assess current fitness and mobility levels, and discuss goals (required).
A written physician clearance to participate in exercise is required.

About the instructor:
Erin Rasnake, PT, MS, PCS is an ABPTS Board certified pediatric physical therapist with over 17 years of experience providing outpatient physical therapy care to children aged 0-21 years living with neurological, orthopedic, cardiopulmonary, and/or developmental issues. She has a passion for helping maximize children’s participation in their respective environments through exercise and through improving access to appropriate community-based programming. Erin views fitness training outside the clinical environment as imperative to prolonging gains made during formal bouts of care, with the hope that community-based exercise becomes an enjoyable activity for children, their families, and peers.
